About The Find

Open 364 days a year, we are an inclusive, friendly business that aims to make everyone who crosses our threshold feel comfortable.

welcoming visitors with disabilities

The Find aims to treat everyone who visit or works in our coffee house equally and according to their needs. We welcome visitors with disabilities and will do our best to accommodate your individual needs. If you have access requirements, read our Access Statement.

a baby-friendly business

Everyone in the family is welcome in The Find and our younger visitors find our beautiful townhouse irresistible. We are a breastfeeding-friendly café and have baby-changing facilities. Our Breastfeeding Policy outlines how we support the needs and rights of breastfeeding mothers.

SUSTAINABLE to the core

Working in an industry where waste and sustainability are an increasingly important consideration, we want to do all we can to help create a better future for people and the planet.

Almost all our packaging is plant-based and fully compostable. Our takeaway coffee comes in a fully compostable cup (and lid); our salad boxes are made from corn starch. We sell reusable cups made from rice husk, and offer plant-based takeaway cutlery and paper straws. All café waste is sorted so any recyclable waste is recycled and any food waste composted.

By supporting locally sourced suppliers, we keep the food miles down as much as we can while giving customers a chance to experience the wonderful food on our doorstep. We make many items on our menu in our artisan kitchen, further minimising packaging and transportation.

The water we sell is carbon neutral and produced by Belu Water. It is sold in 100% recycled bottles by a social enterprise that gives 100% of profits to WaterAid.

Supporting causes we care about

One of the activities closest to our hearts is fundraising for pancreatic cancer research. The Find’s owner, David Orme, lost his wife Jackie to pancreatic cancer in 2012. If you visit The Find on World Pancreatic Cancer Day, which falls on 21 November, you’ll notice a rather purple hue to the place, as we sell purple cakes, drinks and even soup (non-purple food is also available)!

David Orme

To date, David has raised almost £300,000 with a large proportion of this raised by his Team Jackie runners in support of the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund. If you are interested in joining us in our fundraising, get in touch.

We are also one of the first Cheltenham businesses to support the Billy Chip, which allows our customers to purchase a chip they can then give to homeless people who can redeem it for a takeaway drink.

We are based in an area famed for its food and drink producers. As a business rooted in the community, we support many of the best suppliers in and around Cheltenham, across the Cotswolds and within the region. The eggs, milk and meat in our breakfasts come from local producers, our artisanal bread and cakes are baked a few miles away. Even our juices, gins and premium ciders are locally made – fewer food miles and more deliciousness!

We aim to make the most of great local products and bring you the best of each season. Our flexible menus are inspired by a desire to share our love of local food with the widest range of people. The means those with special diets as well as vegetarians and vegans won’t miss out on our regionally inspired menus.
